Why a DPF needs cleaning
A diesel particulate filter (DPF) helps reduce exhaust emissions by trapping large soot particles produced by the engine burning diesel. Like any filter it will eventually become clogged; this can happen sooner
for a number of reasons, the most common of which is if the vehicle is mostly used for short journeys so the engine doesn’t reach the optimum operating temperature to burn off the soot.
How it works
The DPF REFRESH machine completely removes all soot, PM10 ash, oil and cerium residuals from the filter by blasting it with powerful forces of hot, bi-phasic liquid which contains an enzyme and microbub- bles to break down the hydrocarbon chains. The debris is flushed out. After being dried with heated air for 45 minutes it’s ready to reinstall.
We take measurements of the back pressure (mBar) and flowrate (m3/ph) before and after cleaning to see how much efficiency has been restored.
